October 31, 2019 - Foundation for Airway Health co-founders Michael Gelb and Howard Hindin brought the Foundation Airway message to the Halloween Program of the New Jersey Pediatric Dental Association. The day was hosted by NJ pediatric dentist, William Lieberman, DDS, who is also the Director of Clinical Operations for Pediatric Department of Dentistry at NYU Dental School. Drs. Hindin and Gelb were delighted that the Association devoted their entire program to the diagnosis and management of the Pediatric Airway Space. There were more than 200 hundred attendees, most of whom were hearing about airway our the first time.
The program offered a collaborative approach and featured leading airway orthodontists Marianna Evans and Barry Raphael, along with pediatric ENT sleep physician Scott Rickert. The Foundation recognizes the importance of the pediatric dentist for screening and identifying children at risk. Several of the attendees became Foundation Airway Advocates and committed to screen all patients for airway problems.
The Foundation looks forward to the day when every pediatric dentist will screen every patient. Until then it is up to all our readers, public and practitioner alike, to be Airway Advocates for those suffering with hidden airway problems.
